I enjoyed the first book and while it did have some weak parts, I was curious to know how the series dubbed, "Harry Potter for Adults", was going to end. But I feel like the ending of The Magician's Land completely went against what the previous books had set up. This was a series that deconstructed the fantasy tropes.
Yeah I mean, everything is open to interpretation. I don't think La La Land is that cynical too, it's wholesome overall. "The fools who dream" is song that makes something hopeful and finds dignity in something that would make other people say "look at these fools who believe they are gonna make it in the industry, ha!".
